DENIM DUDES & SOORTY
Denim Dudes and Soorty invited four denim dudettes from around the world to participate in this valuable project and I was honoured to be one of them. The idea of this project was to promote a collective story of what denim represents to women and what it means to be a woman working in denim today. We were asked to design a full outfit to represent ourselves andwhat we stand for when it comes to denim.
This, hence, also became a great chance to discover and show how versatile denim is as a fabric; and how it can be used as a canvas to represent so many different styles, looks and attributes.
DESIGN
My concept was based on the functional everyday lifestyle of my home-from-home Amsterdam. Inspired by smart functionality, conscious craft, natural fabrics and classic colouring, I created an eco-conscious and highly functional look, designed with sustainability in mind, using responsibly made fabrics and wash processes combined with high performance finishing
NASDA DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Moving from the idea towards realization, Denim Dudes & Soorty shared the inspirations and moodboards and invited the participants for a visit to the NASDA lab in Çorlu.
The talented and engaged team at NASDA made sure all designs and garments were being made and we ladies got to do some realtime customisations of their own. It was a great pleasure to participate in this project!
