A core passion of the AMK team is bringing our projects to life visually - inviting others in and sharing our craft. Nearly all of our videos are created in collaboration with the talented videographer Eduard Nijgh, whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with for several years. Nature and people are my greatest sources of inspiration, and Eduard consistently captures the moments and atmosphere of each project with remarkable sensitivity.

ROOTED - WORKWEAR FOR REAL WORKERS
This collaboration focused on denim workwear designed and crafted here in the AMK atelier. Using iconic Cone Denim fabrics, and made for CSA Farmers located outside of Amsterdam, De Stadsgroenteboer.
Over the course of a year, we followed the farmers and the rhythm of their daily tasks, guided by nature and the changing seasons. We studied the performance, and evolution of these garments throughout the year to see what kind of story they would tell.
The project was captured in short interviews that show the meaning of workwear through the eyes of real workers.
On the western edge of Amsterdam, 5 farmers at de Stadsgroenteboer are growing over 50 different vegetables and more than 15 herbs for the local community and the members of their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). Although the farm is quite small, they still produce a considerable amount of food using bio-intensive techniques.
Farming is hard work and it helps to be supported with the right equipment and clothing. With ROOTED, we created tailor-made denim workwear with a vision to support these farmers through their garments to get the job done.

The AMK atelier turned into a music studio for one weekend! But I agreed only of course if the musicians wore AMK jackets.
Each band member picked their favorite fabric and features, and since the jackets are finished they are rocking their attire. Look at them shine!

The idea for this collaborative collection came in the middle of the 2020 pandemic, as a way to unite partners from across the globe to create and inspire with authentic designs, using the best possible fabrics, trims and washes.
